Thunderstorm And Lightning Warnings In Odisha
The regional meteorological department announced thunderstorm warning over the districts of Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak on March 15. As pet the officials, moderate thunderstorm with lightning and rainfall is expected to occur at these districts.
“Thunderstorm with gusty wind and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north Odisha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Khordha between March 15 and 16,” the Bhubaneswar MeT bulletin stated.
On March 17th and 18th thunderstorm with lightning is forecasted for the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Cuttack. It is also anticipated to occur at a couple of places in north Odisha, Puri, Khordha, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts on the same days.
Despite thunderstorm and heavy winds, no rain warning has been issued in the state. The change in weather is a relief for the people of Odisha from the scorching heat that has hit the state recently.
Regional Meteorological Centre & the office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) have successfully sent alerts for the upcoming events to alert the residents of the respective districts.
