Cold wave to continue in Odisha
The cold wave is likely to continue across Odisha over the festive period even as visitors throng the cooler parts of the State for holiday season. The temperature is forecast to drop upto 4 degree Celsius over the Christmas period in Odisha.
The entire State had been experiencing the effects of an intense cold wave following the cyclone Phethai that hit the Andhra coast on 17th December 2018. Kandhamal and Phulbani were the worst hit with the minimum temperature recorded hitting the sub-10 degrees mark in the past week.
The State Government has instructed District Collectors and Civic bodies to provide night shelters to the homeless in the affected districts.
