Poly Fest Begins In Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar’s Poly Fest, which kicked off at the Kalinga Stadium on February 24, is a pioneering initiative by the Odisha Government to encourage the polytechnic circuit in the state to showcase their talents to the masses. Organised by Directorate of Technical Education and Training under the SD&TE Department, the fest is hosted for the Diploma students in order to promote a healthy spirit of competition amongst them.

The fest was inaugurated by Vishal Kumar Dev, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sports & Youth Services Department, Tourism Department along with Rajesh Patil, CEO, OSDA and Director of Employment, Sudarshan Panda, Additional Secretary, SD&TE department, and other senior officials. The state government’s effort to provide a platform for the youth of Odisha to express their talent in addition to building their competency was lauded by Dev.

The total participation count for the meet is 862, out of which 274 are female. These students come from the 33 State-run and 56 Private Diploma Institutes and will battle it out in various categories of sports and cultural events. The fest is witnessing participation from 6 zones namely Cuttack, Balasore, Berhampur, Rourkela, Khurda & Puri.
