Top-performing Officers in Odisha to get Lucrative Incentives
To commend the best-performing officers of the state, the Odisha government has decided to send its top officers to foreign countries as part of its 5-T (transparency, teamwork, technology, time frame, and transformation) initiative. Apart from this, the deserving employees will be also offered other lucrative incentives including a posting of choice, and two months additional salary.
As per the notification issued by the general administration and public grievance department, the Group-A officers can avail of either the LTC to foreign countries that are directly connected by air from Bhubaneswar with a 30-day leave salary, or short-term training abroad, or posting in any department/station out of the three choices given by him/her.
Meanwhile, Group-B employees can either opt to travel to countries that are directly connected by air from Bhubaneswar with a 30-day leave salary or ask for posting in any department/station of their choice. Similarly, Group-C employees can either choose a bonus salary for two months or reimbursement of tuition fees of a maximum of two children in any government medical, engineering, technical courses as prescribed in the Medhabruti (scholarship) scheme.
Group-D employees can either avail the basic salary of two additional months, or relaxation of residency period for consideration of promotion to Group-C posts, or reimbursement of tuition fees of a maximum of two children in any government-run medical, engineering, technical colleges under the Medhabruti (scholarship) scheme.
“A screening committee has been formed in each department to assess the efficiency and eligibility of the employees. The committees have been asked to recommend the names of the deserving employees to avail of the incentives based on the quality and outcome of their performance. Their names would be sent to the chief minister for approval”, a senior general administration (GA) department officer said. The committee will sit once a year, preferably in January.
According to the notification, an employee can avail of the incentives for a maximum of two times in his/her tenure. Also, the second incentive can be availed at least three years after the first one.
The selection criteria include several parameters such as employee track record in the last five years, commendation letters during service, outstanding performance duly acknowledged by the government among others.
