Odisha Government Puts Nine More Mining Blocks For Auction

The state government has put out the notification for the online auction of nine more mining blocks, which is the third auction notice in the last fifteen days. The blocks include iron ores and manganese ores.

Purheibahal, Chandiposhi, Rengalaberha North-East, Gandhalpa, Netrabandha Pahar (West), Dholta Pahar and Jumka Patriposhi are the iron ore blocks that will go under the hammer, while Kalimati is the manganese block. Similarly, Unchabali iron ore and manganese block would also be auctioned. “All these nine blocks are virgin blocks. Bidders, who will bag these blocks, will have to develop these blocks for mining”, said Deepak Mohanty, director of mines.

Sources expect top mining players of the country to participate in this online auction process. Bidders who are able to get a working mine will be immediately able to operate the blocks after obtaining necessary statutory clearances.

Tender documents for the bidding process will be available for purchase till 29th November, while 4th December is the deadline for submission of the bid. Apart from Kalimati (with a tender fee of Rs. 2 lakhs), the eight other blocks will have a tender fee pricing of Rs. 5 lakh.
