However, public bus services will be restricted in the state. Further, restrictions placed over marriage, cremation, meetings, social gatherings, the opening of temples will remain the same as before.
The state has been divided into two categories:
Category A includes 17 districts where the Test Positivity Rate is 5 % or less. These districts are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagada. Category B includes 13 districts where the Test Positivity Rate is more than 5%. The districts are Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Khordha, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Puri and Angul. In these regions, there will be no relaxation in lockdown, except for an extension of 2 hours for essential services.
Notably, the weekend shutdown will continue till June 30 throughout Odisha.
A state official said that a proposal to give relaxation in business hours for essential services in the high-burden districts is under consideration. In all likelihood, the State government may go for providing some relaxations soon.
The State Home Department informed that since the count of active cases in all the districts, except Deogarh, is very high, at this stage the State is not willing to go for any major relaxations. Only17 districts under Category-A will see certain relaxations. This step is taken to boost the state economy and provide relief to small businesses.
