Convention Centre Worth 50 Crores Inaugurated By CM
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a new state-of-the-art convention centre in the Lokseva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. The Centre has been built over an area of 5180 square metres.
Built within the premises of the state secretariat, the convention centre is two floors high, which includes the 400-seater main hall that is equipped with video wall displays and sound systems. Additionally, the centre comprises of a Banquet Hall and a well-furnished VIP-lounge.
“There was a need for a modern convention centre for important government activities. It has all state of the art facilities. All the important meetings will now be held here. The state and central PSUs can also hold their meetings in the conference hall,” said chief secretary Asit Tripathy.
On the ground floor of the building is a huge medical room with all necessary facilities. A 100-seater conference hall, two other small conference halls of 30 and 15 seating capacity respectively and a food plaza with a capacity to accommodate 100 people are placed on the first floor of the centre. Some other added specialties include a water conservation system and landscaping around the building.
All important meetings, MoU signing ceremonies and Odisha Knowledge Hub lecture series addressed by eminent personalities of the country which were earlier held on the third floor of the state secretariat will now be held at this newly built convention centre.
Notably, the centre was built by the state works department with an investment of around Rs 50 crore.
