Vietnam Ambassador Seeks Trade Relations With MSMEs Of Odisha
The second day of Odisha MSME International Trade Fair 2019 was packed with good news particularly for the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of the state. Vietnam extended an invitation to the MSMEs of Odisha, offering them to promote their trade in the Southeast Asian country.
Vietnamese ambassador, Phan Sansh Chau, invited the MSMEs, especially the ones operating in areas of food processing, travel, tourism, pharma, health care, handloom and handicraft sector. He also praised the growth in trade that has taken place between Vietnam and India over the past year.
The ambassador met with various industry representatives to get an outlook of Odisha’s MSMEs. This is a testament to the efficiency of the MSME department of Odisha that has taken this sector to such great heights.
At the trade fair, MSME minister Prafulla Samal shared his positive insights on the array of schemes that have generated employment and growth in the state. L.N Gupta, secretary of the department of MSME, shared details of the initiatives being undertaken to provide financial aid.
Currently, there are around 473 MSME specialized bank branches in the state to provide financial support. MSMEs can also register under government e-market (GeM) for expanding their presence throughout the country.
