East Coast Railway Launches Special Trains To Ease Summer Traffic
The Indian Railways, in order to deal with a massive rush during the summer season, has decided to run eight special trains commencing from East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction to various places in the country.
These special trains are Puri-Santragachhi (Howrah) Special, Puri-Habibganj Special, Sambalpur-Shalimar Special, Chennai-Santragachhi Special, Puduchery-Santragachhi Special, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Special and Sambalpur-Banaswadi Special. Out of the eight, three are already on the tracks to ease the rush.
The ECoR has also begun its preparation to cope with the hot weather circumstances over its jurisdiction by advising all railway divisions to assure proper functioning of water distribution terminals and water taps. All major stations will have arrangements for water in the waiting halls. The trackmen have been notified to remain alert in monitoring rail fractures problem and to use Rail Thermometer to keep a watch on expansion and contraction of the tracks.
To control the situation of unexpected fire incidents, the railway zone has made arrangements for adequate firefighting equipment at stations, sensitive locations and in trains. Officials have been instructed for proper checking of electrical connections in coaches. They have also been instructed to take measures for prevention of fire in luggage vans, pantry cars and coaches of the trains apart from the stations, coaching depots and other railway premises.
