Puri Hosts Krushi Odisha Roadshow!

The state wide celebrations of Krushi Odisha 2019 concluded with a glamorous roadshow hosted in the city of Puri. The event was inaugurated on Saturday by Puri MLA and revenue minister Mahaeswar Mohanty. The event was held in association with the Conference of Commerce and Industry (CII) and was coordinated by Suparna Nanda.

Also present at the event were important delegates from the state agriculture department including Additional Secretary Manmath Pani, Director S Chandrasekhar Rao and Puri Collector Jyoti Prakash Das.

Mohanty in his speech addressed various issues and aspects regarding agriculture and stressed on ways by which farmers can double their income, one of which being the use of diversified farming. He declared that farmers would be given advances worth Rs. 5000 in Kharif season and Rs.10000 in Rabi season.

Puri Collector Das added that the event is exclusively aimed at creating awareness for farmers about enhancing their profits by using multiple farming methods and not just paddy.

Additional Secretary Pani reiterated that complete assistance would be provided to boost agricultural income. Deputy Secretary Rao shed light on the different programmes for farmers launched by the State Government.

At the event, it was also declared that a chariot would move around the state to kickstart the initiative.
