Odisha Tourism To Cruise On Republic Day
Silversea Cruises, a Monaco-based luxury cruise liner, has incorporated Odisha in its Asian expedition route. As part of its 14-night Asian expedition that began on January 22, the ship with over 120 guests, will anchor at Paradip Port on January 26.
The ship departed from Chennai and will dock at popular ports like Visakhapatnam, Sunderbans, Mahehkhali island, St Martin Island (Bangladesh), Nagapali Beach, Rakhine State, Mawlamyine and Hpa An Port Yazar in Myanmar.
The state tourism department is excited to welcome its international guests and provide the best hospitality. A high-level meeting was held by the Tourism Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, where senior officials from the department discussed measures to be taken to ensure a pleasant visit for the tourists. Odisha government has also arranged for two historians to accompany foreign tourists to several popular destinations in the state.
“The maiden port of call will provide a much-needed boost to cruise tourism in Odisha. It will open up new opportunities and encourage entrepreneurs to invest and enhance their business prospects in the tourism sector of the State,”Managing Director, Travel Link, and curator of the visit, Benjamin Simon said.
Presently, Silversea Cruises operates its cruises in all seven continents and covers over 900 destinations across the world.
