Odisha Government Conducts Investors’ Meet In Gujarat

The Odisha Government hosted an investors’ meet during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019 held in Gandhinagar, on Saturday.

Prominent personalities who were present at the event and shared their success stories of doing business in India include Jindal Stainless Limited chief resident representative Shashibhushan Upadhyay, Welspun’s Odisha Project head Subhendu Parida, Adani Ports joint president Unmesh Abhyankar, JSPL ED Manish Kharbanda and Tata Steel SEZ Limited MD Ashish Mathur.

A total of 116 investors from Gujarat attended the road-show to understand the investment opportunities that Odisha boasts. These investors represented a mix of various sectors including textiles and apparel, chemicals and petrochemicals, food processing and downstream industries in metals, and more.

IPICOL MD Dr Nitin Jawale, while delivering a presentation, said, “Odisha is emerging as the preferred manufacturing destination and manufacturing hub of Eastern India. With able and stable governance, progressive policies, competitive cost and ease of doing business, availability of raw materials, industry-ready infrastructure and skilled manpower, Odisha beckons Gujarat-based industries to explore new growth opportunities.

The successful operations of companies such as Adani Group, Welspun and Manpasand Beverages are a testament to Odisha’s potential”, he added.

Odisha has been ranked number one in terms of investment implementation rate and is amongst the top three states in terms of live manufacturing investments in the country. The state has registered a GSDP growth rate of 7.94 percent in FY2016-17, exceeding the national growth rate of 7.1 percent.
