Odisha Encouraging Film Tourism
Odisha is taking various measures to promote film tourism in the state. These include encouraging more and more filmmakers to choose the state as their preferred destination for shooting, improving the screen density in the state and more.
The new Odisha Film Policy, which was recently launched to achieve this purpose, is also said to be one of the most extensive and engaging policies made by any state in India.
“The Odisha Film Policy, launched this year, is focusing on encouraging good Odia films, improving screen density, promoting film tourism in the state and making Odisha as a preferred destination for film shooting,” said one of the officials.
The policy promises to provide incentives for film-makers producing films to promote Odisha’s culture as well as films that are being shot in the state. A number of film-makers, stakeholders of media and entertainment industry, and FICCI officials shared their views and suggestions on the new film policy in a meeting conducted recently.
FICCI Odisha Co-Chairperson Monica Nayyar Patnaik said, “as industry’s voice for policy change, FICCI would help in disseminating key highlights of the policy and give a boost to film-making in the State.”
The officials are confident that these measures would significantly boost film-making and promote film tourism in the state.
