Pay and Use Quarantine Facilities Reopen in Bhubaneswar

Keeping in mind the resurgence of COVID-19 cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to resume its pay and use quarantine facilities in different parts of the city. Hotels and properties have been identified by BMC, which belongs to the OYO Hotels and Rooms company, which will be used for paid quarantine and isolation facilities.

BMC released a notification which said, “It appears that pay and use isolation/quarantine facility is also an essential requirement and the asymptomatic patient/COVID-19 suspect at his/her own cost may also like to avail the pay and use facility in private hotels if they so desire and these facilities can be availed on payment with the condition as mentioned in the order and as per protocol.”

Given below are the conditions notified by the BMC:

  • Any person who may have come into contact with a COVID-19 positive patient or coming from outside the state or is suspected to have the virus can avail paid quarantine facility
  • A patient declared as an ‘asymptomatic positive’ case after due health screening can avail of the paid isolation
  • The most number of days up to which an asymptomatic positive patient can avail this pay and use isolation facility is 10 days from the date of testing of sample unless and otherwise directed by the concerned medical officer
  • For quarantine purpose, the maximum permissible period of stay for the person shall be 7 days from the date of contact with a positive case or entry to Odisha
  • The guest shall have to make an advance payment to the hotel service provider amounting to 50% of the room rent per day for the required number of quarantine/isolation days
  • The guest shall comply with the COVID-19 protocols and co-operate with the service provider as well as BMC officials during the period of stay
  • The guest shall avoid coming out of the room or use common areas and shall self-monitor his/her health condition every day
  • In case of any health issue, the guest shall immediately intimate the front desk of the hotel for intervention
  • The concerned medical officer shall be liable for providing consultation services to the guests as and when required
