Odisha’s Fourth Coronavirus Case Confirmed

A fourth positive coronavirus case has been confirmed in Odisha as a 29-year-old man from Bhadrak district becomes the latest victim. The patient who has tested positive has a travel history to Dubai. This information was confirmed via a tweet posted by the health department.

A total of 473 and 137 people were tested on the 30th and 31st of March respectively. All these test results were found negative. However, AIIMS conducted 15 tests recently out of which 1 came out positive.

What’s alarming is that the health department followed a tweet about the recent case that said “The fourth COVID patient did not have any symptoms. Hence people with travel history but no symptoms should not be complacent. They must follow home quarantine for two weeks and then self monitor their health condition for another two weeks.”

As specified by the information released by the health department, Odisha Health Secretary NB Dhal had spoken to Bhadrak Collector Dr Gyana Das and asked him to shift the patient to SCB Medical College in Cuttack.

Notably, to ease the burden of the victims, the Odisha Government has declared that the state would bear all the costs associated with the treatment of any person testing positive for coronavirus in Odisha.
