Odisha Reports 456 New Coronavirus Cases
Odisha has reported 456 new coronavirus cases on Monday, out of which 309 are from quarantine centres. This takes the total COVID-19 tally in the state to 9526. Meanwhile, local contact cases continue to increase with 147 fresh cases reported from across Odisha.
The district of Ganjam continues to see a sharp surge with 166 new infections in the last 24 hours. Jajpur has reported 57, Bargarh 33, and Nabarangpur 24. They are followed by Khurda with 21 cases, Sundargarh with 20 and Sambalpur with 15. The number of active COVID-19 infections in the state has now climbed to 3254.
Notably, India has surpassed Russia in terms of cumulative coronavirus cases and now ranks third in the world. With 6,98,233 infections, we have jumped to the third spot as the USA and Brazil remain the two worst-hit nations.
