Mandatory Registration Upon Entering Odisha For All
In a bid to curb the spread of novel coronavirus, the Odisha Government has announced that all travelers entering Odisha need to register their names along with their personal information. Additionally, this mandatory registration along with 14 days of home isolation will fetch travelers an incentive of Rs 15,000.
Anyone who comes to Odisha from abroad has to register himself/herself mandatorily with the toll-free number 104 or the online portal, Chief Secretary A K Tripathy said. This should be done within 24 hours of arrival. However, advance registration before arrival will be highly preferable, he added.
All those who have entered the state and are under self-isolation will be monitored and given appropriate medical advice via phone calls, Tripathy said.
The chief secretary also added that anyone not complying with these regulations will be subject to punishment under provisions of the Indian Penal code and Criminal Procedure Code. This regulation will be in force till April 15 and could be extended if need be.
The state government expects many Odias to return from foreign countries due to the closure of colleges and lockdowns that have now been implemented in many countries. This will increase the risk of spread into Odisha and hence all necessary precautions must be in place.
“Your action will save you, your family, your neighbours and the state,” said Tripathy in his message to the people of Odisha.
