After Berhampur, Rourkela to Have Doorstep Vaccination Campaigns

After the successful rollout of the doorstep vaccination campaign by the Berhampur Municipal Corporation, Additional District Magistrate (Rourkela) has decided to launch a campaign on similar lines for the Steel City. The doorstep vaccination drive is targeting senior citizens and disabled persons, who may otherwise experience difficulty visiting an authorised vaccination centre, the ADM tweeted.

Earlier yesterday, the Berhampur Municipal Corporation began the ‘vaccination at doorstep’ initiative to administer the Covid-19 vaccine to 70+ and those who are not able to walk or are bedridden.

Interested and eligible people who wish to avail of this service shall dial 7328099324 between 8 am and 12 noon and provide their details for booking. The provisioned vehicle shall reach the house of the registered candidates the next day, subject to the availability of the vaccines.

So far, only one vaccination vehicle has been enlisted for the drive-in Berhampur, to gauge its demand and popularity amongst the residents. An initial target of vaccinating about 100 people daily has been set. However, demand for the facility is only expected to go up as such drives increase the convenience and reduce the burden on part of the beneficiary to wait for a slot.
