Koraput Coffee is Brewing A Success Story in India
It’s good news brewing for all the lovers of Koraput coffee. Odisha’s exotic coffee is now available all over India and is gaining popularity. A Mumbai-based company Dope Coffee Rosters, has procured 600 kilos of coffee from Durga Madhab Coffee Estate in Koraput and has started marketing it online.
This is the first time that a private estate coffee from Odisha is being promoted as a standalone sub-brand of a roasting company. Recently, the company acquired samples of the Koraput coffee and after testing, tagged it as a ‘single farm specialty coffee’ because of its rich aromatic flavours.
The project was finalised with the help of Kalinga DESIAGRO Foundation, a non-profit organisation that promotes, markets and popularises agricultural and farm produce from underdeveloped regions of Odisha.
The private estate initially used to send the coffee to Karnataka which posed a challenge due to high transportation cost. They were approached by Kalinga DESIAGRO this year, who facilitated their produce to the Mumbai market through Dope Coffee Roasters.
As a promotional activity, Dope Coffee Roasters is being marketed on the CRED App during this Indian Premier League (IPL) season, which went live today at 1 pm. The company is offering at least two variants of the Koraput coffee.
