India Today Mind Rocks 2019 Delights The Youth Of Bhubaneswar

A jam-packed KIIT auditorium stood witness to the seventh edition of the India Today Mind Rocks youth summit on 10th January 2019, which was held for the first time in Bhubaneswar. The event was curated by the India Today group to provide the youth with a platform to exchange views, opinions, thoughts with some of the leading minds in the country. The summit has traditionally seen a mix of high profile delegates from various professions participate and enlighten the youth with their experiences and advice.

This year, the interactive session was graced by an ensemble of speakers and luminaries, including the likes of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, IPS Basant Rath, Bollywood stars Emraan Hashmi and Taapsee Pannu, entrepreneur guru Subroto Bagchi, cricketing legend Mohammad Azharuddin, Youtube sensation Bhuvan Bam – all under one roof. And each one of them had their own, unique stories to share.

Former Indian cricket team captain, Mohammad Azharuddin praised India’s recent triumph over Australia under the leadership of Virat Kohli. “It’s a historic moment – a lot of people are saying this is bigger than the World Cup. But a victory is a victory”, Azharuddin remarked. Odisha born officer Basant Rath, who is in the Indian Police Services, shared his views on his past and the lingering issue of Kashmir.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared his views on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and expressed the stance that his party would hold. The man behind Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) Subroto Bagchi shared a few tips on entrepreneurship to the young and budding entrepreneurs.

On the entertainment front, Nikita Gandhi enchanted the masses with her angelic voice, while Tapsee and Emraan delved into the workings of the movie industry, their own sweet memories from their youth, and shared words of professional advice for the attendees.

The house seemed to come down in roaring applause when Bhuvan Bam took centre stage – with many among those present carving out handmade posters in support of Bam’s represented characters as part of his short vines online. Bhuvan, fondly called BB by his fans, spoke on openness among the youth, his inspiration behind the play of characters he juggles, apart from belting out his own hits – Safar, Sang Hoon Tera, and many more.
