PM Modi lays Foundation Stone at IIM Sambalpur
Taking a step towards better accessibility of quality education in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur today. On this occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also mentioned the state government’s commitment to making policy provisions to make Odisha the most preferred educational hub in the country.
Sending his thanks to the PM for laying the foundation stone of IIM Sambalpur via video conferencing, Patnaik highlighted the feats achieved by the institute, set up in 2015. Within five years of its establishment, the institute has proved its mettle as one of the premier management institutions of the country, imparting a positive impact upon the hierarchy of educational institutions in Odisha, which has a tradition of excellence.
“I am sure with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, more and more central institutes will come to Odisha and accelerate the growth trajectory of the state”, said Patnaik thanking the authorities for their commitment to making the management institute one of the best in the country.
Focusing on the state government’s commitment towards education, the CM said, “Education in Odisha is witnessing a rapid transformation. I am particularly happy that our state continues its dominance in the education sector and has emerged as the education hub of eastern India. With the establishment of IIM, IIT, NISER, IISER, AIIMS, NLU and many other institutions of national importance, Odisha is emerging as a leading research hub of the nation”.
IIM Sambalpur is the first IIM to implement the idea of a flipped classroom where the basic concepts are learnt in digital mode and the experiential learning takes place in the class, through live projects from the industry.
