Shop Till You Drop For Handloom Weaves At Cotton Fab Bhubaneswar
This New Year, get ready to explore a myriad of options as the Cotton Fab exhibition in Bhubaneswar brings you everything you need for a wardrobe makeover! The expo which usually takes place in September-October was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cotton Fab features a total of 90 handloom stalls and 30 handicraft stalls from different states of India. One can choose from Kashmiri pashmina to Chanderi sarees; fashion jewellery to pottery items and chikankari dress materials at the exhibition.
Although the number of stalls this year is slightly less in comparison to previous years, there is absolutely no dearth of products to choose from.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers have been asked to pay attention to the rules and regulations set by the administration. Unlike previous years, the exhibit is taking place in an open space to avoid unnecessary congestion. A gap of six metres is given after every three stalls to avoid gathering. Sanitisers, thermal scanners have been put at each entry gate and visitors are asked to furnish their details at the entry point.
“We are following all the necessary protocols for COVID-19. After February, this is the first time we are holding Cotton Fab in Bhubaneswar. We have always got good responses from the people here. So, Bhubaneswar was our first-choice to restart the business after a break due to COVID-19,” said Javed Khan, a member of the organising team.
Besides the weaves and jewellery, one can also savour the authentic flavours of Rajasthani cuisine at Cotton Fab. Serving ‘Dal Bhati Churma’, ‘Pyaz Kachori’ and ‘Rajasthani Thali,’ the place is a must-visit for the foodies too!
Cotton Fab will remain open till January 14.
