Puri Jagannath Temple Reopens for Darshan
The Puri Jagannath Temple, which was shut down for nine months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, re-opened on Wednesday.
For the next three days, the doors of the temple will be open for the servitors and their families. Strict COVID-19 guidelines have been put in place in the temple premises.
All the devotees entering the temple will have to show ID proof. Hand sanitisers have also been placed at the entrance of the Puri Jagannath temple.
To avoid excessive crowding, the public will be allowed to enter the temple premises according to their wards. A detailed ward-wise list has been prepared, based on which devotees will be allowed to enter the temple premises.
The public can offer prayers to the deities as per the list from December 26 onwards.
On December 26, people from ward no 2,3,6,9,11,12 and 15 are allowed to offer prayers at the temple.
