OFDC Invites Filmmakers To Odisha
The Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC), while implementing its new policy, has invited a band of national and international filmmakers and film producers to visit Odisha in a bid to promote film tourism. The new policy allows filmmakers to avail of a subsidy of 25 percent of the total cost of any film that promotes Odisha’s culture, heritage, and tourist destinations.
The corporation has set up a stall at the ongoing 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa, where Odisha is one of the sponsor states. This platform is actively being used by the OFDC to promote their newly formed film policy, inviting filmmakers to the state. The film festival ends on 28th November.
“Odisha is enhancing the ease of filming and facilitating the development of related institutions. For this, a single-window approval process has been adopted for shooting films in the state. To encourage filmmakers to shoot in Odisha, a subsidy of up to Rs 2.5 crore will be provided to English/Hindi/International language films that promote Odisha, its culture, heritage, and tourist destinations”, said Nitin B Jawale, managing director of OFDC. The OFDC team was accompanied by Odia filmmakers.
