Alma Fiesta Held At IIT Bhubaneswar
The annual socio-cultural fest organised by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar, Alma Fiesta, was organised in the institute campus recently. In its eleventh edition, the fest had a cultural theme of “India’s Cultural Melange: A Voyage to India’s Heritage Roots”, and a social theme titled, ‘Jal Sanrakshit, Bhavisya Surakshit’.
Dr. Kshiti Bhusan Das, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and National Fellow (ICSSR) was the chief guest of the three-day-long event. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. R.V Raja Kumar, who heads the institute as its director.
The inaugural session of the fest involved a children’s festival named ‘Bachpan ka Rangmanch’. More than 150 children from deprived sections of the society participated in various events ranging from music, poster making, dumb charades, and many more fun activities. The session aimed at giving them a day worth of unfiltered joy.
Alma Fiesta saw students from universities and colleges from all across India compete against each other. Several technical workshops and exhibitions were also held. The star night included DJs and popular singers who enthralled the audience.
The festival, thus, enabled the students to have fun while enjoying their skills in the field of art and technology.
