Odisha Marks 2030 As Year To Achieve Industrial Target
Odisha government is targeting the year 2030 to achieve the goal of producing more than 50 percent value addition to the primary metal produced in the state. The target was intimated to the companies by industries minister Dibya Shankar Mishra.
With more than 60 steel manufacturing companies included in the target, the minister made sure to highlight Odisha’s ecosystem which can enable to expand the manufacturing units.
In the meeting, the vision of achieving production of 100 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) steel was agreed upon by all parties. The importance of prime steel manufacturers was also stressed upon.
Keeping in mind the up-gradation of facilities by the state government, industries secretary Sanjeev Chopra said that over the past two decades, the state government has focused on manufacturing of value-added products in the state. He also ensured the state’s assurance in building infrastructure that would reduce the logistical cost for industries in the future.
Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) chairman and managing director Sanjay Singh said the government has created a land bank of more than one lakh acres for quick allotment to enable large scale investments. Skilled manpower is also being made available to hire.
