Committed To Building An Everlasting Relationship With Japan: Dibya Shankar Mishra

At the recently held Japan-Odisha industrial partnership summit, Satoshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India, appreciated the constant support provided by the Odisha government towards Japanese investment. The seminar focused on exploring the possibilities of new Japanese investment in Odisha and was headed by the State MSME and Energy Minister, Dibya Shankar Mishra.

“Japan has been a trusted partner of India and Odisha. Our State under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is committed to building an everlasting relationship with Japan both in industrial and cultural spheres”, said the Minister.

Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra addressed the gathering highlighting the stellar industrial collaboration with Japan over the years. Companies like Arcelor Mittal, Nippon Steel, and TRL Krosaki have made big strides in Odisha.

“The case for Japanese investment in Odisha is well made. The robust infrastructure, strong political will and enabling bureaucracy coupled with the natural resources are great strengths of Odisha”, said Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla. He also assured the support of the Indian government towards investments in the State.

Principal Secretary of Industry Hemant Kumar Sharma highlighted the opportunities in Odisha, attracting investments for its natural resources, ease of doing business, and supportive legal framework.

Representatives from Arcelor Mittal, Nippon Steel, TRL Krosaki, Tata Group, Aditya Birla, Indo-Nissin Foods, Reliance, and Mindtree shared their experience in Odisha with the prospective Japanese investors.
